For our client, Psenner Distillery, we developed a comprehensive photographic image concept. Before the shoot, we took the time to fully understand the client’s corporate identity (CI), discussing their needs and expectations in detail, while also collaborating closely with their agency to define the desired visual language. Our long-standing relationship includes previous studio shots of bottles, focusing on precise lighting and presentation on neutral backgrounds.

For this project, however, we were able to place a greater emphasis on the naturalness and high-quality craftsmanship of the company and its products. On-site at the Psenner distillery, we captured images featuring both Werner Psenner, the owner, and his employees in action. A key aspect of this project was the creative lighting approach. Moving away from traditional, even lighting setups, we crafted a more atmospheric and mood-driven style, enhancing the elegance and authenticity of the brand.

Our mobile lighting setup allowed us to perfectly illuminate the scenes without losing the natural ambiance. This enabled us to highlight the modern architecture of the distillery and the elegantly integrated copper stills, while also reinforcing the company’s color scheme to align with their CI and enhance the overall visual coherence of the brand.

Throughout the project, we also created portraits of Werner Psenner, both during a whisky tasting and as classic business portraits. Mr. Psenner’s openness to creative ideas, as well as his sense of humor, made the collaboration especially enjoyable and inspiring. Through this photography, we were able to communicate the premium quality of the distillery’s products, such as whisky and gin, in a visually compelling way that resonates with their target audience.
